Haven't found a better work boot yet
I bought my first pair of Dr. Martens steel toe work boots about 7 years ago. They were intended for use on the job at the time, as they are impervious to coolant, oil, and grease. But I started wearing them at home while working outside, and then practically everywhere. They are very comfortable, and have more toe room than any other brand of boot I have tried. I wear a 12EE but even though the size I bought says '12 Medium' they are plenty wide enough. It's almost impossible to find a pair of Doc Martens in 12 wide anyway, or so I have found. I may try to have my old pair resoled because the uppers are still in excellent shape despite their age, but it will be hard to match the original look. I have used leather glue to fix any nicks or cuts to keep them looking good. The tread pattern of the soles is very easy to clean, which is great because working in my yard means a lot of mud or caked dirt and sometimes dog poop. I can run a pocket screwdriver around the channels in the tread and the stuff falls right off. Sometimes I just blast them with a garden hose and let them dry. It doesn't matter if they're not waterproof, the leather never shrinks or gets hard or cracks. Imagine how long they'll last if you slap on a bit of Neatsfoot oil or some polish once in a while.
