The KORK-EASE Story

...begins in Brooklyn, New York in 1953, with the creation of the very first cork wedge sandal. The soft, rich leathers and natural cork heel were the perfect complement to everything from full skirts to capris — ideal for women seeking comfortable resort looks and chic summer style.

In The Sixties the simplicity, comfort, and organic look of Kork-Ease designs epitomized the earthy, natural outlook and optimistic spirit embraced by the youth culture during the decade of love. During the Seventies the platform cork wedge revolutionized the disco-chic look — a cultural icon that would forever be synonymous with the era. Today reflects the heritage of the brand’s original designs, combining clean lines with unique silhouettes that perfect the fusion of past and present.

Not as comfortable as other korkease
Higher heel with less padding. Arches and balls of feet hurt after walking a few minutes. Super cute and classy but not for walking or standing.

Great sandals
Saw these sandals elsewhere for full price and thought they were so cute but didn't want to pay that much. Saw them on sale at Olanet Shoes and grabbed them immediately. They are so cute and I think they run true to size. Look cute with lots of warm weather looks.

Height with Comfort
i got these in the grey color which is more like a beigey-taupe, a great summer neutral shade. i have tried lots of different platforms many in the comfort category and have never been able to keep them on for more than a couple of hours before my feet start aching. these are definitely high 4, but because of the 1.5 platform, they feel like a 2.5 heel. and with the vamp covering most of the foot and the heel strap securing in your foot, they feel very supportive and secure. the only negative is that the base of the sole is slightly narrow, so you do need to be careful if walking on an uneven surface, lest you twist an ankle. i'm now debating whether to get another pair in black or the new brown suede for the fall/winter season.

Wonderful wedge!
These are one of the most comfortable shoes I own and that's saying a lot with the amount of shoes I own. They're very light, so they don't weigh your feet down like some wedges tend to do. They're also very well padded, so you can wear them all day long without any pain in the ball of your foot or your arch. I usually wear between a 6 1/2-7, but I took a 6 in these so you'll want to size down. The Navy is more of a cornflower blue and it's a really beautiful shade.

Featuring Kork-Ease

There is nothing us Planet people enjoy more than talking about shoes! When friends and family ask, “what are your favorite brands?” we naturally rattle off dozens of names we love for their own special reasons. Get to know what it’s like in our world of feel-good footwear as we share our experiences with you.

What would we do without Kork-Ease? They were the original makers of the wedge after all! You can thank Kork-Ease for going out on a limb back in 1953 with the vision of a stable heel and a ton of passion. When their idea turned into a reality, the modern wedge was born, a style many have adapted and changed. Yet no one can seem to replicate the quality leathers, unique styling and great colors that come with an amazing Kork-Ease wedge!

Kork-Ease shoes are timeless and classic, elegant and sophisticated. They've had such an influence on the shoe world that they were inducted into the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Landmark Shoe Collection, an honor only ever given to 25 styles of footwear.

We have always been super impressed by Kork-Ease's ecological, biodegradable and environmentally safe Vachetta leather. It ages with you, developing a great, vintage, gorgeous finish to an already beautiful pair of shoes.

With new rich hues for their amazing spring wedges and sandals, Kork-Ease has delivered yet again this season. You must check out their newest collection... you won't regret it!
