Generations of mountaineers, climbers and hikers have helped LOWA develop the proprietary technical innovations and construction techniques that make our boots so special. We are proudly committed to the European Community's high standards of environmentally sensitive production.

How to Build a Boot That Simply Fits Better:
Eight decades of boot building experience has earned us a reputation for great-fitting boots. Details like how a LOWA boot tongue automatically centers on your foot make a big difference when you're out on the trail.

How To Build Longer-Lasting Boots:
The same PU (polyurethane) that makes our boots so supportive is also the most durable midsole material available. PU is more expensive, so not widely used. Boots made with PU last at least twice as long as boots with EVA midsoles. With PU, you get better value for your money & fewer boots end up in the landfill.

How To Make Boots with Gore-Tex Linings Fit Better:
Our patented, lasted GORE-TEX® liner is more durable and creates a smoother fit, less potential for blisters or discomfort.

How To build a Lighter Weight boot That's Still Wicked Stable:
Our patented Monowrap construction wraps the foot in a lightweight, yet firmly supportive, PU frame that delivers excellent stability with very lightweight upper materials.

How To Support The Foot in Comfort:
We use a softer PU (polyurethane) in our midsoles that provides better shock absorption and ultimate comfort underfoot. Why cradle the foot in comfort? Because it's your foot, that's why. When feet begin to hurt, the fun is done.

Best boots ever
My first pair of Lowa boots. I put them on and WOW they fit great, light and they just feel good on your feet. Puts my Timberland's to shame

Very happy with this reputable brand
I would buy a second pair in a heartbeat! They were comfortable from day 1, and I love them as a summer hiking shoe. I have a pair of Lowa winter hikers that have lasted for years and it appears that these will do the same. Love the appearance and styling; with so many gaudy neon-colored running shoes out there it's nice to have something subtle and earthy-toned. Laces do not slip and the shoe feels secure. I would like to see this brand carried in more stores.

Lowa Tempest QC Hiking Boot
I'm hooked on Lowa hiking boots. Excellent support for short and long hikes. Can't beat the firmness of support for going over rouogh terrain.

I've worn out three pair
I love these boots. After years of disappointment with different styles and brands of hiking boots, I will never switch from these boots. Because they come in widths, my low volume, narrow foot fits beautifuly with an added liner. They are waterproof, light, protect nicely from sharp rocks and are "grippy" on slippery boulders. I hike five days a week and use the older pair for working around the yard. I treat them with waterproofing just to be sure, but haven't ever had them get wet through and fail me. Once they are broken in they feel as comfortable as slippers yet able to take punishment on the rocks and trails. They work well with snowshoes if it isn't horribly cold outside. Wish the price was lower but sometimes you get what you pay for.
