TAOS FOOTWEAR’S STORY, INSPIRATION, & DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

Created in 2005, Taos Footwear was born from a simple idea: To give women stylish and comfortable footwear. Celebrating our 10th anniversary in 2015, this commitment to style, comfort, and quality remains our guiding principle.

The DNA of Taos Footwear is easy to see, but difficult to duplicate: adjustable uppers, anatomical footbeds, and artisan finished leathers. Taos Footwear is designed in Southern California and produced in the finest factories around the world.

Taos Footwear maintains a disciplined approach to development, production, and wholesale. Buying a pair of shoes from Taos Footwear is more than just a purchase; it’s validation of Taos Footwear’s promise to provide style and comfort.

Doing what we can

Green is a color of many shades. We believe it’s the little things that make a big difference. Which means we recycle at the office. We seek out materials and manufacturing techniques that leave the smallest environmental footprint possible. Our shoeboxes are made with recycled stock and soy-based inks. We hope you like them enough to use them and give them even more use than delivering you some great shoes.

Very happy with shoes
Discovered Taos last year and am a fan. These are elegant and stylish. They give nice height with a very comfortable footbed. I think the straps will need to soften up a bit for where they hit the toes but these a good shoes. Good purchase. Like buying from Planet shoes as well. Get good help on phone.

Cute shoe! Hard foot box
This is a seriously cute twist on the classic Mary Jane. The double strap that comes into a single buckle is a very pretty touch, and the front of the shoe is a riff on the classic man's wingtip. So, what's not to love? Unfortunately, the complete lack of anything supportive or soft under the ball of the foot is uncomfortable. While not a deal-breaker, the velcro under the buckle is also an oddly cheap feature on a shoe in this price range.

So comfortable!
I bought these exact shoes when I started Beauty school. I was in school in the evenings and worked during the day before going to school. When I wore these all day, I never had any foot pain. They were definitely the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned and they lasted me a good two years before I felt like they were worn out. And I wore them a lot.
Taos Footwear has always been inspired by the natural beauty and creative culture of the American Southwest. And nowhere does it better than Taos, New Mexico. Just drive up from Santa Fe and you’ll see what we mean. Go and eat the carne adovada or blue-corn enchiladas at Orlando’s New Mexican Cafe on the road to the ski resort. Or get a cappuccino at World Cup café just off the main plaza. Visit some of the local artist’s studios. Walk the back streets and notice the architecture, the colors and textures, even the fences. You’ll know why we love Taos and why we celebrate it every day.
